A Pakistani wedding is not one event. It is a dholki or two, the mehndi, the nikkah, the barat and the walima, and each one needs its own look. This guide walks through wedding decor in Lahore event by event, so you know what to plan, what to ask for and when to book.
Start with three decisions
Before you look at designs, settle these three things. They shape every setup that follows.
- Fresh or artificial flowers. Fresh flowers have scent and a softer look. Artificial flowers can be set up earlier and stay the same all night. You can mix both, for example fresh roses on the stage and artificial strings on the entrance.
- Colours for each event. Most families keep yellow, orange and green for the mehndi, red for the barat, and white or pastel shades for the nikkah and walima. None of this is a rule, but deciding early keeps the photos consistent.
- The space. Measure the stage or wall, or take a photo of it. A setup that fits a hall stage will look different in a lawn, a house lounge or a small room.
Dholki and the wedding house
The house is often decorated first, before the main events. The usual places are the main gate, the entrance door, the stairs and the balcony. Flower strings on the gate and railings tell guests they are at the right house and give a good background for family photos. See our wedding house decoration designs.
Mehndi decoration
The mehndi is the most colourful event. Common choices are genda (marigold) strings, a flower canopy over the stage, a flower frame behind the bride and floor seating with cushions. Two extras are worth planning for:
- A flower jhoola for the bride's entry or photos. We provide the jhoola itself, not only the flowers. See mehndi jhoola designs.
- A photo booth where guests take pictures. We provide the frame, the seat or rickshaw and the flowers. See photo booth designs.

Nikkah decor
The nikkah setup is usually calmer: a rose arch, a motia curtain, a floral canopy or a rose backdrop behind the couple. White, blush and pastel roses are popular, though red works well too. If the nikkah is at home, a smaller arch in the lounge or the lawn is often enough. See our nikkah decor designs.
Do not forget the ring platter. We can write the couple's names on it. Order it at least 2 days ahead.
Barat decoration
The barat stage is usually the largest setup, and red is the most common colour. Typical elements are rose arches, a red drape with a rose border, and a rose walkway leading to the stage. We provide the drapes and the flowers, not the sofa. See barat decoration designs.
Walima decoration
The walima often has a lighter feel than the barat: white or pastel flowers, rose arches, a flower canopy or a flower ceiling over the stage, and sometimes an outdoor setup. See walima decoration designs.
Bridal room decoration
The bridal room should be ready before the couple arrives after the barat. Popular choices are a rose canopy over the bed, drapes, fairy lights and a petal path. We decorate rooms at home and in hotel rooms. See wedding room decoration designs.
Wedding car decoration
The wedding car can carry roses, orchids or a flower heart on the bonnet. For car decor, the car is brought to us and we share the location on WhatsApp. Book it at least 7 days ahead. See wedding car decoration designs.
A name sign
A custom neon sign with the couple's names works on almost any stage or photo booth. Ask for it when you book the decor.
When to book
Book wedding decor at least 2 weeks before the event. In the busy wedding months, earlier is better. Car decor needs at least 7 days, and ring platters and floral jewelry need at least 2 days.
